SEDGs Cell

In line with the UGC Guidelines 2024 and National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the SEDGs Cell at Deva Matha College (Autonomous) is dedicated to ensuring equitable access to quality higher education for students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The Cell works to make the institution inclusive, equitable, and sensitive to the needs of underrepresented groups.

Vision

To create an inclusive, equitable, and supportive academic environment that empowers students from Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs) to achieve academic excellence, personal growth, and social mobility.

Mission

  • To ensure equal access to quality education and institutional resources for students belonging to socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • To provide academic, financial, and psychological support systems that help students overcome socio-economic barriers.
  • To promote awareness about scholarships, government schemes, and institutional support mechanisms available to SEDG students.
  • To create a safe, inclusive, and discrimination-free campus environment that respects diversity and promotes social justice.
  • To organize mentoring, skill development, and capacity-building programs that enhance students’ academic performance and employability.
  • To monitor the progress and well-being of SEDG students and recommend measures for their academic success and holistic development.

 

  • Ensure constitutional rights, safety, and dignity of students from SEDGs.
  • Implement UGC guidelines and Government policies including reservation schemes.
  • Provide socio-emotional, academic, and financial support.
  • Facilitate bridge courses, earn-while-learn initiatives, and outreach programs.
