BA English

The BA English (Honours) programme offered at Deva Matha College, Kuravilangad, Autonomous, (with Specialisation in Cultural Studies & Film Studies) is a four-year programme of 8 semesters with English Major. Minor courses offered include Literary Genres: Poetry, Fiction and Folk Tales, Literary Genres: Prose, Drama and Film, Detective Fiction, War Narratives and Literary History. Ever since its inception, the Department has maintained a remarkable record with its students claiming top positions in the university examinations each year. The research activities of the department have gathered momentum after being elevated to the status of a Research Department under Mahatma Gandhi University in 2014. There are currently four research supervisors among the permanent faculty members of the department. The postgraduate library of the department has more than 6000 books and subscribes to 5 journals.
