Founded in 1964, the Department of Chemistry at Deva Matha College, Kuravilangad, has over sixty years of experience in developing skilled and socially responsible chemists. For more than six decades, the department has played a vital role in nurturing generations of scientifically inclined and socially conscious graduates of agricultural background in the heart of Kottayam district. Guided by its mission to discover, inspire, and educate future chemists, the department is deeply committed to promoting environmental awareness, scientific creativity, and professional skills among its students. Our vision goes beyond academic excellence – we aim to shape a morally grounded and culturally refined generation of chemists who contribute responsibly to society and science. The department offers both undergraduate and multi-disciplinary courses in Chemistry, supported by a team of dedicated, highly qualified, and research-active faculty members. Well-equipped laboratories provide students with hands-on training across all key branches of chemistry. Complemented by seminars, workshops, invited lectures, and association activities, the department ensures a comprehensive learning experience that prepares students for careers in research, industry, academia, and beyond.
