The Department of Malayalam was Started in 1964. the B. A programme began in 1981 and the M. A in 1999. The Department rose to the Status of a Research Centre in 2023. The Research Centre consists of six Research Guides. The prime target of the department is to culturally enhance the students by increasing there interest in their mother tongue and literature.
