The Physics Association of the Department of Physics serves as a platform for students to explore
scientific curiosity beyond the classroom. The association organizes seminars, invited talks,
science exhibitions, quizzes, workshops and other academic activities that promote scientific
thinking, innovation and collaborative learning among students.
Through these activities, the association aims to nurture analytical skills, research interest,
teamwork and leadership qualities among students while fostering a vibrant academic culture in
the department.

Recent Activities
Science Day – 2025 National Science Day 2025 was celebrated with enthusiasm. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Unnikrishnan Nair, Director of VSSC, who also delivered the keynote address.
CIRCUITX An electronics circuit workshop was conducted, during which students designed and built working electronic projects.
FINISHING SCHOOL A finishing school programme was organized to enhance students’ professional skills, communication abilities, and career readiness.
ENVIRONMENT DAY – 2025 The Department of Physics celebrated World Environment Day on 05 June 2025 by organizing a Green Treasure Hunt and awareness programme.
An LED Workshop was conducted on 28 June 2025 to introduce students to the basics of electronic circuits and practical assembly
MOON DAY – 2025 The Department of Physics celebrated Moon Day on 21 July 2025 with a seminar, competitions, and interactive activities. The programme explored the science of lunar exploration and addressed misconceptions surrounding the Moon landing, encouraging scientific curiosity among students.
SPACE DAY – 2025
The Department of Physics celebrated Space Day on 7 & 8 August 2025 with seminars, presentations, and interactive sessions highlighting recent developments in space science and exploration. The programme inspired students to explore the wonders of astronomy and space technology.
ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION – 2025 The Physics Association for the academic year 2025–26 was inaugurated on 26 August 2025. The inaugural session featured a keynote talk on “The Quantum Century: Milestones, Mysteries, and Breakthroughs,” inspiring students to explore the exciting frontiers of modern physics.
AIoT & ROBOTICS WORKSHOP – 2025 An AIoT and Robotics Workshop was conducted on 23 September 2025 to introduce students to the fundamentals of robotics, sensors, and embedded systems. Through hands-on sessions, participants assembled and programmed robotic models, gaining practical exposure to emerging technologies.
TALENTIA – 2025 TALENTIA, conducted on 27 September 2025, was an outreach programme for Plus Two students featuring a physics workshop, quiz competition, and an engaging Escape Room challenge. The event encouraged participants to explore scientific thinking and problem-solving through interactive activities.
REMEMBERING THE LEGEND: DR. A.P.J. ABDUL KALAM – 2025 The Department of Physics commemorated Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on 15 October 2025 with a video presentation highlighting his life and achievements, followed by a quiz competition. The programme inspired students to reflect on the vision and contributions of the former President and renowned scientist.
POWER QUIZ – 2025 The Department of Physics organized a Power Quiz on 06 November 2025 in association with the KSEB Officers’ Association. The competition tested students’ knowledge of electricity, energy, and power systems, encouraging analytical thinking and awareness of the power sector.
ICAM 2026 – International Conference on Advanced Materials The Department of Physics hosted ICAM 2026 on 7–8 January 2026, bringing together researchers, academicians, and students to discuss recent developments in advanced materials and related technologies. The conference featured keynote talks, technical presentations, and scholarly interactions that fostered academic collaboration and knowledge exchange.
